Cat Picture Drawing Step-by-Step Full Tutorial
Here are 9 Easy Steps to draw a Cat easily.
1. Draw Eyes.
- Take a sheet of drawing paper.
- Place the drawing paper on a pitch board to keep it from moving while we draw.
- Draw margins evenly around the edges of the paper.
- To draw the cat’s eyes, make two side-by-side semicircles.
- Add the eyeballs by drawing curved lines inside the eye shapes.
2. Draw a Nose and Mouth.
Let’s start by drawing a nearly round nose in the middle of the space between the eyes. Next, create the mouth by drawing some curved lines below the nose. Lastly, add a tongue inside the mouth to make it more playful.
3. Draw Some Hairs.
To create the illusion of nose hair, simply draw a few straight lines extending from the nose toward the right side. Likewise, draw some additional straight lines extending from the nose toward the left side. Children will find it effortless to add these details and give their cat drawing a realistic touch.
4. Draw Ears.
To draw the cat ears, follow these steps:
To draw the cat’s right ear, we will create an almost triangular shape just above the eye with three curved lines and not add the bottom part of the shape. To draw the left ear, do the same work. Look kids, cat ears are made very easily.
5. Make a Head Shape.
Now, we will continue by drawing the lower part of the cat’s face. Follow these steps:
- Use curved lines to draw the lower part of the cat’s face, forming a smooth curve from the nose downwards.
Next, we will add some hair to make the cat look even more realistic:
- Start from the cheek area and draw hair extending towards the ears on both sides of the face.
- Use a zigzag line to represent the texture of the hair. This means the lines should have small, sharp turns, like a series of “V” shapes.
- Repeat this step on both the right and left sides of the cat’s face.
Lastly, let’s add some hair on top of the head:
- Use another zigzag line to draw the hair on top of the head. Make sure to follow the shape of the head and add small, jagged turns to create the textured appearance.
By following these steps, you will give your cat drawing a more lifelike and detailed look. Have fun!
6. Draw Two Legs.
Now, we’ll move on to drawing the cat’s legs and adding some details. Follow these steps carefully:
- Start by drawing a straight line extending from the cat’s head towards the back. This will be the cat’s back line.
- From the end of the back line, turn it downwards to create the leg. Make sure to leave some space for the paws.
- Along the leg line, add small lines to form the toes. These lines will represent the cat’s claws.
- To draw the back leg, use a zigzag line on the right side of the body. The zigzag pattern will give it a furry appearance.
- Similarly, draw another leg in the front using zigzag lines, also adding the small lines for the toes.
- Take your time and draw the legs carefully, making sure to give them a nice shape and proportion.
By following these steps, you will bring the cat drawing to life and make it look even more realistic. Have fun and enjoy the process, kids!
7. Draw a Tail and Two Legs.
Now, let’s continue with the next steps to complete the cat drawing:
- Draw a thick and beautiful tail extending from the back of the cat. It can be curved or straight, depending on your preference.
- Next to the back leg, add another toe by drawing a small line with attention to detail. Remember to include the claws as well.
- A little above the first front leg, draw the second front leg of the cat. Follow the same steps as before, using zigzag lines for a furry texture.
- To give the cat’s neck some texture, add hair using zigzag lines. These lines will represent the cat’s fur, so make them slightly jagged and irregular.
Take your time while drawing these details, paying attention to the shapes and proportions. Don’t forget to add your own creative touch to make the cat drawing unique. Enjoy and have fun, kids!
8. Color the Eyes, Nose, Mouth, and Ears.
Now it’s time to add some colors to bring your cat drawing to life! Here’s how to color it:
- Color the cat’s eyes with a black shade. Fill in the entire eye area with this color.
- Within each eye, add a small white circle to represent the eyeballs. This will make the eyes look more realistic and alive.
- For the nose, use a pink color. Fill in the area of the nose with this shade to give it a cute and vibrant look.
- Move on to the mouth. Fill the inside of the mouth with black color, giving it a dark and contrasting appearance.
- Color the tongue with a vibrant red shade to make it stand out. This will add a playful touch to your cat drawing.
- Apply a soft pink hue inside the ears. This color will give the ears a nice and gentle tone.
Remember to take your time and use the colors carefully. Coloring can be a fun and creative process, so enjoy bringing your cat drawing to life with these vibrant shades!
9. Color the Boady.
Finally, let’s add the finishing touches to our cat drawing:
- Using a very light blue color, add some dots to shade the lower part of the nose. These dots will give the nose a subtle and realistic shading effect.
