Pterodactyl Drawing Easy Step-by-Step Full Tutorial :
Let’s start drawing the pterodactyl, little friends. Here are some easy and simple processes to draw a cute dinosaur.
Requirement Materials :
Here are the materials we need to draw this picture.
- White paper
- Pencil
- Pencil sharpener
- Eraser
- Color Box
- Tissue paper
1. Prepare Your Drawing Materials.
To get started, you’ll need clean white drawing paper and a scale. Using the scale, draw a margin by removing half an inch around the white page. Take your time and draw the margins slowly and carefully.
2. Position the Head.
Place the upper part of the head in the middle of the white page. Begin drawing the head by sketching a shape similar to the letter ‘T’ in the English alphabet. Make sure to add a slight curve to the lines, giving the head a thick and long appearance.
3. Complete the Head.
Finish drawing the head by adding a round shape behind the ‘T’ formation. The head should have a sharp edge at the bottom.
4. Draw the Belly.
Draw the belly of the Pterodactyl, keeping in mind that the stomach should be a bit smaller than the head. Although in reality, the animal’s stomach was larger, for our cute drawing, we’ll make it a little smaller.
5. Add Hands to the Wings.
Similar to a bat, Pterodactyls have hands on both sides of their wings. Draw slender and thin hands on each wing.
6. Illustrate the Wings.
Pterodactyl wings resemble those of bats but are larger. Draw the wings in a triangular shape, extending from the body.
7. Create the Eyes.
Position two small, beautiful eyes on each side of the forehead. The eyes should be round, and you can add eyebrows above them.
8. Add Colors to the Head.
Start by coloring the top of the head and the lips in blue. Use oil pastels or a blue pencil for this step.
9. Color the Head and Stomach.
Give the head a lighter shade of blue compared to the top. Then, color the belly with a sky-blue tone, making the upper part bluer and gradually lightening it towards the lower part.
10. Paint the Hands Purple.
For a unique touch, paint the hands on the wings purple. You can also consider adding fingers if you like.
11. Add Blue to the Wings.
Using oil pastels, apply a blue color to the wings. Afterward, gently rub the colors with tissue paper to achieve a smooth and darker texture.
12. Outline with a Black Marker.
Emphasize the drawing by outlining it with a black marker or black pencils. Additionally, draw a star shape for each eye and create a blue shadow under the Pterodactyl for a more realistic touch.
