Disney+ Is Where "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" Makes Its Streaming Debut

The biggest gap between theatrical release and streaming release of any Marvel film on Disney+ is presently being experienced by "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever," which debuted on Disney+ 82 days after it opened in theatres.

But the wait may have been worth it, since the movie made more than $800 million worldwide at the box office and has a 94% score from critics and audiences on Rotten Tomatoes.

It also got nods for two Golden Globes and five Oscars. Angela Bassett won a Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role for her role as Queen Ramonda.

Plus, the movie is now available to stream in IMAX Enhanced on Disney+. It joins 16 other Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movies, such as the first "Black Panther" movie, "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness," "Eternals," "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings," and more.

The story of "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" takes place after Chadwick Boseman, who played King T'Challa, died in 2020. The Princess of Wakanda, Shuri (played by Letitia Wright), is sad about her brother's death throughout the movie.

However, she must fight alongside Queen Ramonda, M'Baku (Winston Duke), Okoye (Danai Gurira), and the Dora Milaje to protect their country from Namor (Tenoch Huerta Mej), the leader of a hidden undersea nation. Martin Freeman, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Dominique Thorne, Michaela Coel, Mabel Cadena, and Alex Livinalli are also in the movie.

The follow-up to "Black Panther" is the last movie in Phase 4 of the MCU. As we move into the second month of 2023, Phase 5 movies like "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3," "The Marvels," and "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania," which opens in theatres on February 17, will be coming out soon.
